One of the reasons I haven’t posted in several months is two trips out of the country with several adventures in the states, laced in. This photo is from a fine jewelry store on the Ponte Vecchio bridge in Florence Italy; a ‘girls’ trip I took with my daughter in April-May.
There was a time I believed I was wealthy because of an education, a fine home, a nice car, several well paying jobs/careers, a good bank account, ability to travel the world, even a caring family and husband. But recently, I have come to experience a different wealth which can not be stolen or destroyed by fire, flooding, wind, hail, abandonment…..even physical death. This wealth is my relationship with my God through my Life Leader, Jesus. The other forms of wealthy are fictitious….
I have grasped this understanding intellectually for years and believed the Bible where Jesus says, ” I will never leave you nor forsake you….” but I have never been stripped of my fictitious wealth until recently. When that happened….. I realized how shallow the other forms of ‘wealth’ really were in my life and how eternal my ‘real wealth’ was. Now don’t get me wrong,….. I enjoy the blessings of a nice home, travel, a caring family, etc. but they were fictitious in my life….I KNOW now, how really ‘wealthy’ I have been, am and will be. How about you?
Questions to Consider…
- Who/what represents ‘wealth’ in your life?
- Have you ever experienced disappointment or grief at the loss of these forms of ‘wealth’? Describe it in your own words.
- Might you consider experiencing a different form of eternal wealth in the God of the Bible through a connection with Jesus?
