I took this photo last summer at a horse stable and pizza parlor (only in the west) as I was struck with these volunteer petunia seeds which had found a little piece of dirt, enough moisture and sunshine to grow into this beautiful message of perseverance under tough circumstances. I have a cutesy plaque in our guest room which reads, ‘bloom where you’re planted’, great words whether we are planted by our own choice or life circumstances. Consider these questions wherever you find yourself planted…

• what circumstances have you ‘grown in’ despite tough surroundings?
• who helped you?
• what did you learn that you can ‘appropriately’ share with others in their tough times at the right time?
